When you meet with me to learn more about payroll service, first I do what I call a PAY-CHECK™. It’s a payroll audit of exactly what you are doing now and what the costs are you are spending. In other words- I ask lots of questions. In other words…you are talking and I am listening.

[ Let me be clear. I am asking you to call me to make an appointment. The guys from the other payroll services are generally not payroll professionals- they are salesmen. They like to pop in un-invited. It’s called “interruption” marketing.]

Then I go back and compile a report that details exactly what you spend now, where your vulnerabilities and risks are, and then I give you that report so you are able to make an informed, intelligent decision on the best way to pay your employees properly, for the least possible cost. (And do it safely)

How can you get this free report?

Which describes your payroll service?

• Good service? Being helpful, providing assistance, a helping hand, at the root; to serve. Courtesy, duty, labor. Work, value. Help, aid, functioning. Utility. In service. Benefit, useful, valuable.

• Out of service? Not working, inoperative. Out of order. Broken. Lip service. Faulty, defective, poor service, on the fritz, disservice, damage, acting-up, shot, kaput.

Why do most of the big company payroll services make you interact with them by forcing you to log into their website, input your own hours, add your own employees, make your own changes to deductions, additions, withholdings, addresses, on and on? That’s bad. You are doing all the work. Who’s serving who here?

* 100% guaranteed satisfaction with every payroll or you pay nothing.

* Tailored to fit your business specifically so it’s even easier for you.

* Frees you up to do more profitable things for your business.

“We only have 1 or 2 employees”

Small business owners assume they are too small to use a payroll service. Not true. In fact, having only a few employees makes it even more cost effective to use a payroll service. The alternative is manually calculating pay, remitting the right taxes at the right frequency. Time is money. Mistakes that lead to fines and penalties are costly. Another alternative is QuickBooks. However, the software is $200-300. The tax table is another $295 the last time I checked. Check stock and envelopes, ink and toner isn’t cheap.

Are you running a business? Then why would you choose to be a payroll clerk inside your business? That job literally pays you nothing, makes you nothing, and is time better spent smoozing customers, collecting past-due receivables, doing marketing, or a whole host of things that make you money. Isn’t that why you went into business?

Let’s “cut through the bull” and answer these 3 questions about Van Cleve Payroll’s Service:

• Will it save me money? It may. I can’t say for sure until I get more information. I do what I call a “Pay-Check”, which is a payroll audit. Takes about 15 minutes or so. It gathers all the pertinent information.

• Will it save me time? Yes, definitely. I can say that with confidence because we do all the work. We don’t make you log in to a website to enter the employee’s hours, add new employees, set up deductions from pay, and all that. No, we actually do all the work, except for adding up the timecards, you’ll still have to do that. Then we provide an easy way to give us those hours. And that’s it. It cannot get easier, I’ve tried.

• Will it improve my life? It will. Why? We will save you time. We will take away the stress. We will be making sure the payroll taxes are paid on-time, and the right way. We will respond quickly to your phone calls, emails, text messages. This is a HUGE advantage over the BIG payroll companies. Personalized service.

Have you heard about the trend to do business LOCALLY?

I’ve been seeing this pop up a lot in the past year, how ’bout you? I don’t know what you think, but I really like the idea. Shop at local stores, not national chains, and you keep your dollars working right here in your hometown. The profit the local business makes gets spent here, not sent out of state. Supporting local business benefits your local economy, which helps you. It’s a snowballing effect. If you are helping the local business people, they are better able to be a customer of yours as well. Even indirectly it benefits you. At the very least, a dollar of profit earned here is spent on something here, regardless of where, it’s likely to boost some other business here, which may come back to you.

I made the mental switch a while back and avoided chain stores if possible. I trace my change of attitude to the ads on TV run by JOE ROOTS where he talked about this idea. Talk about a lightbulb going off! Now I try to stick to local restaurants, I get most office supplies at SANNER, and so on.

What are your thoughts?
